the pathway to obtain and maintain the 4sustainability certification
Every day, more and more companies choose 4sustainability® to steer their production models towards sustainability and to support their Clients in reducing risks and impacts. The best supply chains are those that are fully represented across all tiers and sectors: from fabric and yarn manufacturers to subcontracted processing; from textiles to leather and accessories; from industrial companies to smaller enterprises; from tier-one suppliers to sub-suppliers. Collaboration across the different tiers of responsible supply chains is key. Becoming a 4sustainability® company: a four-step journey.
step
1
assessment
You can independently start your sustainable transformation journey by “mapping” your company’s current situation through a self-assessment system built on the framework. This assessment is carried out in Ympact, the platform designed to measure and verify your company’s environmental and social risks and impacts. Through the Assessment, you will obtain an analysis of your company’s starting point, enabling you to launch an improvement pathway. In any case, the collected data can be shared with Clients upon request.
step
2
data collection
For the priority dimensions of the framework, companies can collect quantitative data and initiate risk and impact management actions, always through the use of the Ympact platform and with the support of a dedicated team of experts.
step
3
data verification and issuance of the 4s Certificate
The granting of the 4sustainability® trademark is subject to verification or assurance of the collected data and implemented actions.
The trademark is valid for three years, while verifications for each dimension are conducted annually.

step
4
improvement system
For each 4s dimension, companies can be supported through implementation programmes or improvement plans by a team of experts. Support includes training activities, dedicated tools and continuous guidance aimed at improving results achieved during annual verifications.
