Anna Detheridge is a writer, lecturer, curator and cultural activist committed to projects combining sustainability and culture. She has been teaching in many universities and colleges, including Bocconi University, the Milan Polytechnic, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC). From 1985 to 2003, she was the curator of the art, architecture, design and fashion pages of Il Sole 24 Ore.
In 2001, Anna founded the non-profit Association Connecting Cultures, whose mission is to promote sustainability through the arts, fashion and design. She is also the director of Out of Fashion, a higher education course on the culture of sustainable fashion addressed to designers and professionals in the sector, created in collaboration with POLI.design, the Gianfranco Ferré Foundation, CNA Milan and the support of the Consulate General of the Netherlands.
She has curated numerous books and exhibitions, including the volume Fashion Change and the first exhibition in Italy dedicated to the relationship between Art and Fashion, entitled Fashion as Social Energy.
In November 2016 she was awarded the Dr. Fritz Redlich Award in Human Rights from the Harvard Program in refugee Trauma, Harvard Medical School.
